My name is Paul Chadwick and this is my photo.
It was taken back in 1982 – but maybe you could have guessed that by our awesome hair. I’m the one on the far left. The one with the biggest smile.
I was just out of college and I was playing in a rock band – we were actually pretty good. At this time I was happy, I was excited about my future. Can you blame me?! I was planning to be a rock star – who wouldn’t be excited?
This photo captures all of that – the dreams, the anticipation, that feeling that the world is at your feet and anything is possible. These were some of my best days.
In the years to come, however, things changed. Life and family and responsibility replaced those dreams. Then stress and bad habits added pounds – pounds that felt even heavier than they looked. The smile from the photograph faded.
Now, however, after starting Clean, Burn, Shape, I feel like I have a new lease on life and honestly, I feel better than I have ever felt – (yes, even better than the 80s!). Sure, I’m not just out of college with dreams of being a rock star – but my dreams are better now. I’m older, I’m wiser, and I know I am in control of whatever happens moving forward. And I’m so happy that once again, when I’m smiling for the camera, my smile is the biggest one in the room.
